A completed line still takes up space
Complete a row or column and it stays right where it is: glowing, charged and blocking spaces for the next pieces.
It only discharges when the reactor rotates.
01
PLACE
Fit pieces onto a 13×13 board. They fall towards whichever wall is at the bottom.
02
CHARGE
Complete rows or columns. The lines stay charged on the board.
03
DISCHARGE
Every ten pieces, the reactor rotates 90 degrees. Gravity changes direction and the lines discharge.
Four walls. No fixed floor.
Pieces fall towards whichever wall is at the bottom at that moment. Every ten pieces, the reactor makes a quarter-turn and gravity changes direction.
Each time you level up, the direction of rotation reverses. An arrow warns you as the next turn approaches: white, yellow, orange, red. Keep an eye on it before placing your next piece.
The reward for holding out
(10 + level) × lines²
Two lines in one discharge score four times as much as one. Ten score a hundred times as much.
The more charged lines you have when the reactor turns, the higher your score. But you’ll also have less room to place the next pieces.
More charge. More points. More risk.
If you try to charge too many lines, you can run out of space before the next turn. Then the reactor core overloads and the game ends.
Playing cautiously lets you keep going. To compete for the top spots on the leaderboard, you’ll have to take risks. Finding the right balance is the challenge.
In this game, the score was 1,461 points with 7 charged lines worth another 637 points. The game ended before those points could be collected.
Compete if you want. Play as usual.
There are online leaderboards for points and lines, both monthly and all-time. You can see how close you are to overtaking the next player. Taking part is optional.
You need an internet connection to submit scores. The IP address associated with the leaderboard is retained for 24 hours. How we handle your data.
We love video games. So we made one.
At Talentec, we’ve spent years working with arcade machines, bartops, joysticks, buttons and components. We work with arcade hardware because we love games.
CoreLoad is our first original video game. This time, as well as making the hardware people play on, we’ve made the game itself. It’s available free for Android.
